Automotive Nord e.V.

Three clear goals. As Automotive Cluster, overarching various federal states of Germany, Automotive Nord’s task is to support the communication between companies, science and politics. The association pursues three clear goals:

The North – Home of Mobility Technology

Automotive Location Lower Saxony

With 120,000 direct employees, the automotive industry is the most important industry sector in Lower Saxony. Lower Saxony is home to Volkswagen AG, one of the leading automotive manufacturers with a global production of more than 10 million vehicles per year. Company sites in Lower Saxony are located in the cities of Wolfsburg, Hanover, Emden, Brunswick, Salzgitter and Osnabrück.

Automotive Location Bremen

Along with a large number of suppliers and research institutes in the fields of material, e-mobility and autonomous driving, the federal state of Bremen is a relevant automotive location in northern Germany. The Mercedes Benz factory builds more than 400,000 vehicles per year and is the globally leading plant for the production of the C-class. A traditional brand from Bremen was brought back to life with Borgward and by this, the e-mobility portfolio of the location is complemented. With more than 2 million vehicles and a powerful logistics infrastructure the federal state of Bremen represents one of the largest places for transhipment of the automotive industry. The nomination as model region for electric mobility as well as the outstanding research work of schools and universities provide the attractive framework for the automotive location Bremen.

Automotive Location Hamburg

With around 1.8 million inhabitants, Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany and an important technological and economic location. Daimler AG has one of their biggest factories here, employing around 2,700 people. Furthermore, there are many suppliers in the Hanseatic city. The city has state-of-the-art harbour installations. Year after year, a large number of new vehicles is shipped from here. At the same time, Hamburg is also a location for universities and research. It is home to innovative technologies.
